I just had a call from the guys doing my website and during the call I told them the following story which I think is relevant and another good reason why we are considered the best kitchen manufacturer around the metropolitan Brisbane and surrounding areas.
Over the Christmas holidays while my staff were on holidays, I was looking after all the enquires coming through. Every enquiry we get from the website asks where they heard about Rod's Kitchens Brisbane. As it turned out, one of these enquiries was from one of my first clients in 1979.
He went on to say that when I originally knocked on the door, I was wearing board shorts and a singlet, with long blonde hair looking like a surfer dude. The client got me to quote on a duchess and built-in wardrobe as I was making more than kitchens back then.
Well, as you can imagine, I was so pleased that he remembered me after 35 years, and actually asked how he remembered me after all this time. He said what most impressed him was not the fact that I made a mistake on the robe, but that I immediately offered to fix the problem at no cost to him.
I asked if he could remember what the mistake was, he did. The aluminum framed mirror sliding doors were a little too big, and instead of meeting dead centre, they overlapped a bit too much. As it was only a minor mistake, he declined my offer to replace them.
To replace the doors would have been a huge financial burden on me, as I was 19 years old, newly married and living in a caravan park.
He is only now ready for a new Rod's Kitchen, but has been recommending Rod's Kitchens for the past 35 years, and, his wife still has the duchess.
I love this story because all you have to do to be successful is look after your customers no matter what the cost. The above story is what Rod’s Kitchens live by.
