Kitchen cabinets should be chosen based on your budget, the layout of your kitchen, and how you use the space. We recommend laminate kitchen cabinets as the best compromise between price and functionality. For a higher quality finish, we can also craft custom 2 pac cabinetry.

Kitchen bulkheads are usually painted the same colour as the wall on both the vertical and horizontal services. This helps them blend into your walls and creates a sense of additional height in your kitchen.

When bulkheads are painted ceiling colour, it can make the space feel lower, and the bulkheads may stick out more.

Our cabinets are made from 16mm Highly Moisture Resistant Medium Density Fiberboard (HMR MDF). The backs of cupboards and bottoms of drawers are made from 16mm thick board. This helps prevent sagging and any possibility of insects eating their way through materials.

We do not make use of 4mm MDF in our custom kitchen cabinets.

Rod’s Kitchens offers a 10-year warranty on our kitchens. This covers kitchen cabinets and fittings against functional or structural problems due to a shortcoming in materials at the date of installation.

We source locally manufactured materials that meet Australian Standards. We do not import directly from overseas, although some items purchased through local suppliers may be manufactured outside of Australia.
